Poem 88, an Atlanta-based gallery, has recently announced a year-long restructuring of its exhibitions and programs, aiming to transform into a community center with a focus on community engagement and dialogue around ideas of equity, equality, and environmental care. With over 11 years of operation, Poem 88 has showcased the work of more than 300 metro-Atlanta artists through exhibitions, performances, and installations, while also highlighting underrepresented artists, feminist themes, and cultural traditions.
Alongside its exhibitions, Poem 88 has offered a diverse range of events including musical performances, poetry readings, artist talks, lectures, and film screenings. Additionally, Poem 88 EDITIONS continues to engage and prompt discussion through its publications. As the gallery embarks on this new chapter, owner Robin Bernat expresses gratitude to the artists and looks forward to pursuing independent curating and programming opportunities in the future.
