National Pan-Hellenic Council
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), known as the Divine Nine, is an umbrella organization that comprises nine historically Black fraternities and sororities, founded to promote cooperative action among its members. Established on May 10, 1930, at Howard University, the NPHC aims to foster the well-being of its affiliate organizations and provide leadership training for its constituents.
With a mission to address matters of mutual concern, the NPHC facilitates the establishment and development of local councils and actively engages in programs that support the community. Its member organizations include Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and several others, each contributing to the council's objectives of unity and service.
