The National Automotive Parts Association (NAPA) was founded in 1925 to meet America's growing need for an auto parts distribution system. It is a retailers' cooperative that distributes parts to independently owned and operated auto parts stores. NAPA's largest member is Genuine Parts Company, founded in 1928, which operates a majority of NAPA's distribution centers. NAPA has thousands of auto parts stores, more than 50 distribution centers and thousands of affiliated NAPA AutoCare repair facilities. The association is a supplier of specialty parts and equipment for the collision repair, heavy-duty truck and industrial markets. NAPA serves automotive consumers through the United Auto Parts division of Genuine Parts in Canada, Auto Todo in Mexico and other locations throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
