Monica Best, M.D

Dr. Merkison completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Emory University and will join RBA in September 2025, seeing patients in Sandy Springs beginning in October. She earned her B.S. and M.D. from Howard University, completed residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her clinical interests include fertility preservation, PCOS, diminished ovarian reserve, recurrent pregnancy loss, and third-party reproduction.

Reproductive Biology Associates was established in 1983 as Georgia’s first IVF program. And that was only the first of many ‘firsts’ for us: RBA became the first practice in the state to produce an IVF birth. The first on the East Coast to achieve pregnancy from a frozen embryo. The first in the Western Hemisphere to report a birth from frozen donor eggs. And the list goes on. Dr. Robert J. Straub, M.D. joined Reproductive Biology Associates in August 2003. Though a native of New York, Dr. Straub received his B.A. from Davidson College in North Carolina. He then retuned to New York City and earned his medical degree from New York University. Following medical school, he completed a four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and was Chief Resident at Lenox Hill Hospital.
