Lakeside Middle School provides general academic programs to students in grades six through eight. The school conducts classes in language arts, math, science and social studies. It provides special education classes for gifted and talented students. It supports a variety of sports activities, such as softball, basketball, baseball, soccer, golf, and track and field. Lakeside Middle School offers a foreign language course in Spanish. The school also conducts classes in business and technical education and family and consumer science. Founded in 1988, Augusta Preparatory Day School is an independent, nonsectarian educational institution that provides academic classes and extracurricular activities to students. It offers educational instruction to more than 550 students in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve.
