Lamar Pecan Company, established in the late 1970s by John Lamar, his wife Carol, and their son Bob, has grown from humble beginnings into one of the largest pecan farms in Georgia. The company operates approximately 2,300 acres and produces over 2.5 million pounds of pecans annually, offering both consumer snack products under the brand Front Porch Pecans and wholesale pecans for the commercial market.

Initially relying on manual labor due to limited resources, the family gradually expanded their operations, including the construction of their own cleaning plant in 1992 and the initiation of exports to China in the early 2000s. Today, Lamar Pecan Company continues to thrive under the management of RG and his stepbrother Grant, cultivating several varieties of pecans, including Desirable, Stuart, and Schley.
