About Us The Place is a nonprofit Social Service Organization that has been serving Forsyth County families in difficult times since 1975 with emergency basic needs. The Place also operates a thrift store onsite providing affordable merchandise, all sales support agency operations. Residents in need of assistance should call the program office 770-887-1098 for an appointment. You will learn what information and documentation you are required to bring to your scheduled appointment. These documents are critical for the caseworker to determine the best way to assess your needs Each year our work expands to ensure that we are able to assist the growing population and changing needs of our residents. The Place has provided emergency basic needs in Forsyth County since its inception. We operate through the financial support received from our donors, grants, thrift store sales and the United Way of Forsyth County and donations are critical to our survival. We also rely on many dedicated volunteers to help us carry out our vital mission. More than ever before our programs depend on your monetary and in-kind donations. Donations provide the resources to assist Forsyth County residents in their time of need. Your help is urgently needed to ensure that our Food Pantry will be able to meet the increased needs this year. Food Program: includes our Surplus pantry, Food pantry, Wednesday Noon Day Meals, and monthly Senior Luncheons. Our objective is to ensure that no one goes hungry.
