Insurance Commissioners Office

The Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, administered by the state of Georgia, investigates several policyholders complaints and responds to inquiries from the public. The office operates a division that assists with the scheduling and administration of contested cases. Its industrial loan division is responsible for licensing and regulating the loan industry under the provisions of the Georgia Industrial Loan Act. The Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner annually licenses more than 1,000 industrial loan offices and conducts on-site audits. In addition, the office s fraud unit receives requests from health care providers, life insurers, and property and casualty companies.
