Greenbriar Children's Center, established in 1949 in Savannah, GA, was founded by the members of the Gamma Sigma Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. with the support of local philanthropist Adeline Graham and Rev. Ralph Mark Gilbert, aimed initially at providing care for African-American orphans during a time when such children faced dire circumstances.
Today, the center serves children and families of all backgrounds through various programs, focusing on the healthy development of children from ages 0 to Pre-K and emphasizing a nurturing learning environment for every family they serve.
