Davis Floral Co

In 1962, Robert Davis erected one wood frame house and began producing greenhouse tomatoes. In 1964, after earning his master degree in horticulture from the University of Georgia, he added five more houses Davis Floral Company became a full-time business. In 1966, Davis began growing cut mums for the local florist market. Upon their marriage in 1967, Ann Davis joined her husband in the business full time. Over the next few years, tomatoes were phased out and the cut flower line was expanded to include mums, carnations, snapdragons, pom-poms, and potted plants. These items were grown and sold to local florists throughout the 1970's. As the market for locally grown cut flowers declined in the late 1970's, Davis Floral Company began to look for other avenues of growth. In 1981, three houses were built specifically for geranium propagation. By 1983 cut flowers were no longer part of Davis's product line. Since the early 1980's, Davis Floral has propagated a variety of flowering plants, including geraniums, poinsettias, impatiens, begonias, lantanas, and many more. Davis Floral Company, Inc is currently operating from its third location. We produce more than 350 varieties of cuttings. Although most of our cuttings are sold to customers in the southeastern US, we do ship all over the United States. During the spring and Christmas seasons, we also serve a wholesale market within a 250-mile radius of our location, and operate an onsite retail outlet. As we celebrate 40 years in business, Davis Floral Company is proud of the fact that it has entered its second generation. Robin Davis Gustavson joined the company in 1992 after earning a management degree from UGA. Michael Davis received a horticulture degree from UGA in 1997 and an MBA in 2003. Dan Gustavson, a graduate of Georgia Tech, joined the company in 2004. Following in Robert and Ann Davis' footsteps, this younger generation's goal is to produce the highest quality product possible while providing excellent customer service.
