Fayette Montessori School

History

Fayette Montessori school was founded in 1991 by Margaret Sisson. It was founded with 1 primary program, ages 3-6. By 1996, she had outgrown her original location and broke ground on her current location at 190 Weatherly Dr. In 1997, she opened her new building with 3 Primary classrooms and a Toddler classroom. In 2002, Margaret saw the need for Montessori Elementary Education for the Fayetteville community. In 2006, she implemented and completely set up two elementary classrooms ; one lower elementary- grades 1-3 and an upper elementary, grades 4-6. Currently the school is home to over 60 families. We offer a Toddler program ages 18 months- 3yrs., 1 Primary classroom and an Upper and Lower Elementary. We have a lovely campus complete with separate playgrounds, a soccer field and gymnasium. We are an AMI Accredited School and also are accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission.

Specialties

We are a fully implemented Montessori school serving students ages 18 months thru 6th grade. We are Certified through Association Montessori International. This organization was founded by Maria Montessori to ensure that teacher training centers and Montessori schools maintain the exacting standards she established. AMI certification of a school assures parents that the school and its teachers meet the highest standards. We also meet the standards of the Georgia Accrediting Commission.
