HistoryI began volunteering at a high school in the college and career center, helping students access information about colleges. After many years the volunteer position turned into a full-time job, and the small college and career center became a comprehensive College and Career Center that served a school of over 2400 students unlike anything in our area. This experience provided me an opportunity to work closely with the school's guidance department to better understand the school's role and the challenges that exist. It also allowed me to witness firsthand the stress and anxiety students experience throughout the application cycle as well as the negative impacts it has on their relationships with their parents and siblings. My passion for working with students and my desire to make the college planning process less stressful for families inspired me to start my college consulting business.SpecialtiesEducated Pathways specializes in guiding students and their families through the college admissions process with a focus on reducing the stress and anxiety, providing sound guidance and ultimately discovering the best-fit college for each student. My approach allows me to develop close relationships with my clients so that I can provide the best possible guidance throughout the entire college application process. I also hold my students accountable for deadlines and agreed-upon expectations, eliminating the need for the parents to be enforcers, thereby preserving the parent/child relationship.
