Coleman Middle School

Gilmer High School, located in Ellijay, Ga., is a college-preparatory public school that enrolls more than 1,000 students. The school provides academic education and higher learning opportunities to students in grades nine through 12. The high school is a part of Gilmer County Schools. Its curriculum includes English, fine arts, math, science and social studies. It also provides courses in computer applications, business administration, accounting, multimedia technology, automotive engineering and family and consumer science. Additionally, Gilmer High School provides Diversified Cooperative Training program that imparts occupational skills training to students for employment in various fields, such as health, real estate, finance and building construction. It also has a media center that provides curriculum books, literary sources, audiovisual aids and access to the Internet. Gilmer High School additionally organizes various extracurricular activities, such as musical concerts, a band and theater. It also offers student clubs and organizations. The school also provides various sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, football, cross country, wrestling and tennis.

Founded in 1965, the Georgia-Cumberland Academy is a private educational institution that has an enrollment of more than 250 students in grades 9 through 12. The school features a cafeteria, science room, and testing and guidance center. It offers classes in math, science, English, physical education and social studies. The Georgia-Cumberland Academy has a library that maintains a selection of books and reading and reference materials. The school was recognized by the Alumni Award Foundation as the Academy of Excellence in 2004. It is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian school. The Georgia-Cumberland Academy occupies over 500 acres of space. The school assists with the enhancement of communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Its recreational activities include gymnastics, basketball and drama.
