About the School Swarnaad School of Indian Music was founded in 1999 by Sanjay Patel, a gifted teacher, performer and devoted advocate for the promotion of Indian music and culture. For more than seven years, Mr. Patel studied under Pandit Shree Divyang Vakil; who is a disciple of Ustad Shree ) ( Ustad Shree Latif Ahmad ( Delhi Gharana ) and Shree Sudhir Saxena ( Ajrada Gharana ) Mr. Patel has performed worldwide with such prominent artists as: Snehal Mazamudar ( Santoor ), Pandit Murkesh Desai ( vocal-Mewati Gharana ), Shankar Gangoli ( Sugum Sangeet Composer & Singer ), Ashit Desai ( Music Director of TV & Film ), Ganesh Mohan ( Sitarists ) Rita Gangoli ( Thumari and Classical Vocalist ) and Nayan Pancholi ( Singer & Composer-Gazal and Geet ), Sholi Kopdia ( Singer & ComposerGazal and Geet ) In 1992 Mr. Patel played tabla with the Commonwealth Musical Group for a gala concert in celebration of 40 years of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II'. He also worked in the U.K. as a music instructor for tabla and harmonium at the London borough of Ealing, Brent, Harrow. His work can also be heard on several BBC television programs, Akashvani, Dur Darshan, Amedabad, India; Z-TV and TV Asia.
