Carters Blueberry Farm
Carters Blueberry Farm, established in 1985, began as a cleared wooded lot where blueberry bushes were planted by Hugh Lon Gerald Carter Sr. The farm has faced various challenges over the years, including weather fluctuations and market changes, prompting the family to seek innovative ways to sell their blueberries.
Initially selling under the name Naturipe and distributing to major retailers like Walmart, the farm has also exported blueberries to China and sold frozen berries across the United States. Currently, Carters Blueberry Farm focuses on fundraising by selling Rabbiteye blueberries sourced from local farmers in Alma, Georgia, known as the Blueberry Capital of Georgia.
