History

The cafe became the Buffalo Cafe at the Old Bank in 2012. It is owned and run by the Plains Better Hometown Program which was established in 1999 to maintain the home of the 39th President, Jimmy Carter. The Buffalo Cafe is located on Main Street in an old 1901 building which originally housed the local bank in Plains. The name was given to the Cafe because when President and Mrs. Carter attended Plains High School the mascot was the buffalo.

Specialties

Buffalo Cafe was chosen as one of the best 10 hamburgers in Georgia by Georgia Magazine. Other favorites include homemade chicken salads, soups and salads.
