Bascomb Elementary School

Vaughan Elementary School, located in Powder Springs, Ga., enrolls more than 1,100 students in preschool through grade five. Early childhood education classes develop a child's positive attitude toward school and learning and provide a strong preschool foundation that enables the students to perform in their elementary years. Its program includes games and materials designed within the school to ensure the early development of strong reading skills. Students apply problem-solving strategies learned through written, oral, technological and experiential applications in the classroom. The subjects cover various curricular areas, including language arts, mathematics, social science, science, health and physical education, music and art. Vaughan Elementary School encourages all students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as its science Olympiad, chorus, kid s kitchen, science lab, writing fair and cultural and performing arts. It is a part of the Cobb County School District .
