About Dr. AbsiW. Joseph Absi, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience treating musculoskeletal system conditions with state-of-the-art surgical and nonsurgical therapies. He founded Orthopaedics of Atlanta and Aesthetic Institute to improve joint health and increase the overall well-being of the women, men, and children of Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to orthopedic medicine and surgery, Orthopaedics of Atlanta and Aesthetic Institute offers sports medicine, lifestyle and nutritional counseling, and anti-aging treatments that promote a whole-patient, whole-life approach to wellness and optimization.Dr. Absi graduated with honors with a pre-med degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he was ranked in the top 10% of the graduating class. He completed his residency at the University of Montreal, also in Montreal. Hes a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.Known for his patient-centered approach to medicine, Dr. Absi devotes time and attention to everyone who comes to him for care. Hes passionate about helping professional and amateur athletes recover more quickly and avoid further injury with sports medicine and physical therapy. He also provides trauma services, including fracture fixations.Patients also seek Dr. Absi's expertise in sports medicine, with his experience performing shoulder and knee arthroscopy and reconstruction, as well as hip, knee, and shoulder replacements damaged by sports injuries or arthritis.
