For more than 50 years Sweetbay Supermarket has maintained strong roots in the west central Florida marketplace. Best known for its produce and meats, Sweetbay Supermarket has earned a reputation for quality by offering shoppers low-priced groceries in modern stores that feature European-style delis, bakeries, fresh seafood departments, pharmacies and floral shops. The company traces its roots back to 1914 when Italian immigrant Salvatore Greco sold fruits and vegetables from the back of a horse-drawn wagon in the streets of Tampa, Fla. He later opened his own store that later grew into a chain, which remained under family ownership and was named Kash n Karry in 1962. Sweetbay Supermarket now has more than 9,000 associates working at more than 100 store locations in Florida.
