History

After serving in WWII, Frank & Ralph Wilson began optical careers producing lenses in a downtown Jacksonville lab. They became among the first opticians licensed by the State of Florida and launched Wilson & Wilson Opticians in 1957. Still operating today, Wilson Optical is the oldest optical company in NE Florida and one of the oldest in the nation. In the late 1980s, the Boutique Eyewear movement viewed eyewear not as just a necessary visual aid, but as an objet d'art that should be as interesting and unique as the person wearing it. In 1988, Wilson Optical fully embraced this new movement and became the first optical boutique in Northeast Florida. Today is an amazing time in the eyewear industry. We strive to help select eyewear & sunwear reflective of the personality & individual style of each customer. Our company continually maintains an inventory of over 2,500 frames from today's most innovative eyewear designers; many of which we are the exclusive distributor in Northeast FL
