The museum is located in a former train depot built in 1881 of Victorian architecture. Besides train displays and a caboose, displays include sections on the different small towns of West Nassau County. Other exhibits cover the Battle of Thomas Creek during the Revolutionary War, turpentine production, motels of the 50's and 60's, and a new exhibit covering the nearby FAA facility.
