The change was set into motion when 11 year Principal Sr. Roberta Bailey, OSB was elected prioress of Holy Name Monastery last May. With no other local Benedictine Sisters with backgrounds in education available to step up, the school turned to the New Jersey based Franciscan Sisters of St. Elizabeth for help. The primary ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Elizabeth is that of education of the youth. They work in seven countries on four continents and the order has had presence in the Diocese of St. Petersburg since 2001.Sister Alice Ottapurackal ( pronounced "otta parakel" ) who takes over as the new principal, has taught for 19 years and most recently served as assistant principal at Notre Dame Catholic School in Spring Hill.
