Water Conservation II
Water Conserv II is the largest reuse project of its kind in the world, specializing in cooperative water reuse that irrigates up to 2,737 acres of citrus annually. Developed through a long-term partnership between the City of Orlando, Orange County, and the agricultural community, this innovative program focuses on agricultural irrigation while also facilitating aquifer recharge through rapid infiltration basins.
As the first reuse project in Florida permitted by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to irrigate crops for human consumption with reclaimed water, Water Conserv II adheres to strict public access reuse standards. The reclaimed water produced is suitable for various applications, including residences, golf courses, nurseries, pastureland, and can even be utilized for fire protection.
