Walking DeLand Tours offers six walking history tours of DeLand, Florida, a pristine 1880's-1920's college town known as "The Athens of Florida". These explore all three National Historic Districts, Stetson University, NW Housing District, and Downtown. Discover the saga of Henry A. DeLand, famed hat maker John Stetson, and others who carved the "Athens of Florida" out of a wilderness. Walk the streets where they lived and worked; admire the authentic architecture of this turn of the century town as you browse, taste, shop, and learn why DeLand is one of Florida's and America's most celebrated communities. Tours take 1-2 hours ( about 50 minutes walking time ) at a budget friendly cost of $15.00 per adult, $5.00 children 12 and over. This is an outdoor activity led by your tour guide, retired history teacher, musician and re-enactor, Stanton O'Neal. Just Added!
