W. E. Johnson Equipment Company

History

Since its launch in 1958, W. E. Johnson Equipment Co. has built its reputation in South Florida for excellence in the lift truck and hoist industry. William E. Johnson started a small forklift service operation on NW 7th avenue in Miami. After two years of substantial growth he teamed with Clark Equipment Company. That year W. E. Johnson Equipment Co. was born and has been a fixture in South Florida's material handling business for the last six decades. William guided the company to George Markell Jr. a Vice President at Clark Equipment Company. That next year he recruited Gary Work, a Sales Manager for Southline Equipment in Texas. Gary was brought in as a minority partner and in 1995 when George retired Gary bought additional shares of the company as Principal Share Holder. Gary, along with two minority partners, Paul Grubb, CEO, retired and Robert Morales, VP, who today runs the Sales Division, took control of the organization.
