Mario Pascual, M.D., is an electrophysiologist with Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. He focuses on the heart’s electrical system and specializes in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders, or arrhythmias. He has conducted several clinical research studies to improve the efficacy of treatments such as cardiac resynchronization therapies. Dr. Pascual is fluent in English and Spanish.

Moises Lustgarten, M.D., is the director of pain management at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Lustgarten joined Miami Neuroscience Institute from The Center for Pain Management of South Florida, where he served as the medical director. As a founder of the center, he helped develop a facility that provides care to thousands of inpatients and outpatients with severe chronic pain. He has presented on pain management techniques at many professional conferences and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Interventional Pain Physicians, Florida Society of Anesthesiologists and Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Lustgarten’s approach to patient care is to listen to his patients, so he can understand their needs and recommend the best treatment approach for their health and lifestyle. His goal is to provide pain relief while allowing patients to perform their activities of daily living with minimal limitations. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Lustgarten enjoys spending time with his family and long-distance cycling.

Masaki Nakamura, M.D., is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute and is fluent in English and Japanese. Dr. Nakamura offers both minimally invasive procedures and general surgical care for patients with a range of conditions affecting the heart, lungs, esophagus and chest cavity. He specializes in coronary artery bypasses, heart transplants and repairs, and heart valve replacements. He also performs repairs of the thoracic aorta and the abdominal aorta. Prior to joining the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, Dr. Nakamura served as a clinical instructor of adult cardiothoracic surgery in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at University of California San Francisco. Dr. Nakamura earned his medical degree at Kyoto University before completing adult cardiac and vascular residencies at both Kyoto University Hospital and Takamatsu Red Cross Hospital. He then completed an advanced aortic surgery fellowship at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Nakamura research on the dissection, repair and replacement of heart valves can be found in the Journal of Cardiology Cases. He has also presented his findings at the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Inspired by the surgeon who saved his grandfather, Dr. Nakamura has dedicated his life to helping patients manage their heart conditions and achieve successful outcomes.
