The Third District Court of Appeal, organized in 1957, provides a variety of services for resolving and recording legal matters. It administers individual justice to identify and remove barriers to access. The court additionally protects individual rights and liberties, as well as protects the confidentiality of court participants as required by the law. The Department of Juvenile Justice is managed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. The department works to prevent and reduce delinquencies.
