History

I moved from IL to FL in 2016. After teaching in Florida for a few years, I noticed that, overall, English Language Arts skills were low. Much work was needed to assist students in their reading, writing, speaking, listening and communication skills. These skills are needed in order to be successful in any academic content area as well as in every stage of life! Thus, I began The Successful Scholar business in Florida so that I may work independently with clients in order for them to improve these skills. Whether a middle school, high school, or college student, I work with students to meet their specific, unique tutoring needs. I also assist adults in the workforce and/or who are returning to school. I am a Licensed, Professional Certified Teacher in both FL and IL with Highly Qualified License Status. I also earned a License Endorsement in ESE as a Learning Behavior Specialist. I have classroom teaching experience in the content areas of English Language Arts, Social Studies and Communication Arts/Business. I offer Personalized, Individualized, and Differentiated Tutoring Programs, from one session to my many, package offerings. Also offered are sibling discounts and referral credit! We can meet in-person, usually at the public library, in a residential community center room, or virtually. I serve clients from Grade 6 through Adults.
