History

The Gathering Place began as a figment of our imagination and with the help of all of our friends, family, clients and colleagues, our dream has become a reality. The Gathering Place is the culmination of a shared dream to make a difference in women's lives. Our wish is that women and their families will experience our center as a nurturing, safe place where they can find the resources they need throughout the exciting, challenging and vulnerable period of pregnancy and parenting. At our center we strive to offer support, educational opportunities and services that nurture families so that they can be the best parents possible, in turn raising the most healthy, well-loved and cared for children who will then become wise, intelligent, grounded, and contributing citizens. Specialties

Childbirth Education | We offer childbirth preparation classes that emphasize birth as a normal, healthy and uniquely personal event in the life of a family. Our classes are tailored to meet the needs of each client whether planning a home or hospital birth. Doulas | Our doulas provide emotional companionship, guidance and support empowering women to have the birth of their choice and to approach motherhood with confidence. Breastfeeding | Whatever breastfeeding challenges you face, we can help with a variety of issues including positioning, proper latch and improving milk production. Our lactation clinic offers private consultations at our offices or in your home. Workshops | Courses cover a range of topics from pre-conception through pregnancy, labor and into early parenting including vaccinations, Infant CPR, Babywearing and much more. Support Groups | In our professionally facilitated groups you can benefit from the real-life experience of other moms in our community.
