The Tampa Port Authority is one of the largest cargo tonnage port service providers in Florida. The authority administers the Port of Tampa, which is one of the largest seaports in the state. It serves nearly 8 million people in the Southeast. The Tampa Port Authority s Procurement Department is responsible for the construction, improvement, repair, supplies and materials to be used for port district purposes. The authority offers bulk cargo solutions for liquid sulfur, anhydrous ammonia, phosphate, coal, cement and petroleum products. It has more than 1,500 acres of industrially zoned land with deep-water access of over 40 feet. The Tampa Port Authority maintains container, cruise, shipbuilding and repair, and bulk and general cargo facilities.
