Key Largo, FL

The USS Spiegel Grove is a Landing Ship Dock (LSD 32) that has been intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef in Key Largo, Florida. Measuring 510 feet in length and 84 feet in width, the vessel lies at a depth of 134 feet near Dixie Shoals, with its highest point reaching between 60 to 65 feet depending on tide levels.

Since its sinking in 2002, the Spiegel Grove has been positioned upright after previously lying on its starboard side due to hurricane impacts. To support the upkeep and access to this artificial reef, the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce offers medallions for divers, with options for both lifetime and annual access to the Upper Keys artificial reefs.
