Southwestern Middle School

Southwestern Middle School serves students in grades six through eight and offers a variety of educational services. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, reading, Spanish, science, social studies, family and consumer science, arts, and technology and physical education. The school provides various after-school activities, such as yearbook, cartooning, drama and chess clubs, television production and 4-H. It has an exploratory technology laboratory where students work with digital video, flight technology, robotics, audio broadcasting, computer graphics and animation, astronomy, plastics and polymers, rocketry and space and communications. Additionally, it has a parent-teacher-student organization that supports school s students by organizing fundraising activities. Southwestern Middle School is located In Deland, Fla., and is a part of Volusia County Schools.
