South Trail Fire and Rescue is recognized as a progressive leader in providing the highest quality emergency services, combined with a strong emphasis on public education, prevention and customer service. The department provides fire, rescue and emergency medical services to approximately 45,000 district residents. Its responsibilities include fire, rescue and emergency medical services, fire prevention, public education and new development plans review and inspections. In addition, the department has a brush truck, a small rescue boat, a reserve engine and a reserve ladder truck. In 2002, South Trail Fire and Rescue responded to more than 5,000 total alarms. Its operations division provides fire response, advanced life support response and special operations response with specialized rescue equipment. South Trail Fire and Rescue is located in Fort Myers, Fla.
