South Florida Wildlife Center, located in Fort Lauderdale, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and education of wildlife in the urban jungle of South Florida. The Wildlife Education Ambassador team includes reptiles, mammals, and birds that serve as educators, providing interactive learning experiences to inspire curiosity about the natural world.

At the Center, animal ambassadors that cannot survive in the wild find a forever home, receiving top-notch care and training to become confident educators. Visitors get to feel snake skin, observe a turtle eating, and understand the importance of omnivores like Opossums in the wild. These Animal Ambassadors play a crucial role in educating the public about environmental conservation and promoting harmonious co-existence with wildlife.

Established in 1969, South Florida Wildlife Center is the highest-volume wildlife hospital in Florida, annually admitting between 10,000-12,000 animals for rehabilitation. The Center's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured and orphaned wildlife while also raising awareness about wildlife issues and the importance of peacefully sharing our environment with native species.
