We are an independently owned structural engineering firm specializing in residential and commercial construction. With three registered Professional Engineers, we bring over 70 years of combined experience to the table with emphasis on clear and easy to understand plans. We are proud to say that we have been serving the Northeast Florida area and beyond for over 15 years. Jeff's early career included Hulsberg Construction, a licensed general contracting firm responsible for the construction of numerous commercial and residential projects. In the early 1990's he decided to focus primarily on engineering and established Hulsberg Engineering in 1994. As one of the local pioneers in the field of residential structural engineering, Jeff helped lead the local building community and the surrounding building departments through the region's incredible growth. His unique background as a general contractor brings an unmatched level of practical experience to his designs. After graduating in 1989, Bill spent 10 years designing fixed and movable span highway bridges under hurricane force winds and ship impact. After Hurricane Andrew struck his home town in 1992, Bill began developing software adapted for residential construction. In 1999 Bill left the bridge design business and started his own engineering company to focus on residential structural design and detailing. Bill brought his talents to Hulsberg Engineering in 2004. After beginning his career in 1992, Floyd gained his early design experience across a wide range of structural engineering fields, including construction materials and testing, industrial plant facilities, cellular antennas, and even riverboat casinos. Over time he became an expert in the evaluation of existing buildings, particularly related to lateral wind load capabilities and upgrades to current code requirements. Joining the firm in 2002, this experience allowed for an easy transition into his current focus on the engineering of single and multi-family residences. In addition to his professional engineering career, Floyd also serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Building Construction Management program at the University of North Florida.
