Founded in 1971, Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is one of the largest wild bird hospital and bird sanctuaries in the United States. Based in Indian Shores, Fla., it is equipped with a number of emergency facilities, a surgical center and indoor or outdoor rehabilitation areas. The center provides admissions of over 8,000 injured birds per year. Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary caters to various types of species ranging from tiny song and garden birds to the majestic birds of prey.

Yes, it smells. But that's part of the charm. So many birds, so many vibes--some injured, some just dramatic. Free, educational, and surprisingly emotional. Bring kids or just your curiosity.
