Sanders Doris A Learning Center

Doris Sanders Learning Center is an educational center serving students with varying needs from 3 to 22 years of age. It is affiliated with the Combee Elementary School and the School Board of Polk County in Florida. Its elementary and middle school level classes focus on academics, self-help, communication, music therapy, specially designed physical education and pre-vocational skills with all students. Its high school level students rotate through four classes each nine-week grading period that includes academics, career technical programs and agriculture. Its M.O.V.E. curriculum encourages increased mobility for many students and students are involved in leisure and productivity in the home, community and school settings; social interaction; communication; personal care; health and safety routines; and mobility within familiar environments. Its classes for the orthopedically impaired students classes focus on various academic, computer and vocational skills. Doris Sanders Learning Center is located in Lakeland, Fla.
