Mike Tierney is a Principal and Managing Director at Robertson Stephens. Mike acts primarily as an advisor to family offices as well as families who may be considering one. Those clients get the benefits of a family office without constructing one of their own. Mike’s practice is comprehensive in scope. While his business is anchored in delivering leading-edge investment portfolios in the public and private markets, he also coordinates with leading outside professionals in the various non-investment service areas clients may need, including legal, accounting, philanthropy, and any other service areas tailored to his client’s needs. For prospective clients, Mike leads with a holistic analysis of a family’s financial state and welfare. Mike understands that only with this information in hand can a meaningful conversation be had, unlocking the full potential for collaboration and success. Mike has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry and, specifically, in family wealth management. Mike was previously with Salomon Brothers and Montgomery Securities in New York. Before Robertson Stephens, Mike was Managing Director and senior member of The Presidio Group’s wealth advisory business in San Francisco. Mike earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University. He is married with four children and lives in West Palm Beach, Florida.
