She also participated in pioneering research that has contributed to the development of effective, advanced treatment options for glaucoma patients. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States and often has no symptoms. Glaucoma can gradually damage your vision so you may not notice any loss of vision until the disease is at an advanced stage.
