Rainbow Intergenerational Learning Center
Founded in 1972, the Little Havana Activities Nutrition Centers of Dade County Inc. (LHANC) has evolved into one of the largest providers of essential services for socially isolated and economically disadvantaged seniors in South Florida. With a mission to secure funding and deliver quality social, nutrition, and health services, LHANC helps low-income frail elderly individuals remain in their homes and avoid costly institutionalization.
Serving over 11,000 individuals annually and a total of 81,000 since its inception, LHANC primarily caters to the needs of a vulnerable population where 91% live below the poverty line and a significant majority are Hispanic women aged 75 and older. The organization offers a wide range of programs, including adult day care, companionship, and nutrition services, designed to enhance the quality of life for its participants.
