Pompano Beach Elementary School

Established in 1957, Leisure City K-8 Center is a learning center that provides educational services to more than 1,300 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school conducts classes in various subjects, such as reading, writing, math, science, civics, economics and history. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities that includes music, visual arts, and technical and physical education. Leisure City K-8 Center also offers accelerated reader and English for Speakers of Other Languages programs. In addition, the school provides special education to gifted and talented students. It offers a range of services that includes food, transportation, guidance counseling and medical care. The center features a library and media center that maintains a collection of books, databases and reference materials. Located in Homestead, Fla., Leisure City K-8 Center is a part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

City of Pembroke Pines Charter School offers educational and extracurricular programs to students in grades kindergarten through five. Located in Pembroke Pines, Fla., more than 1,800 students are enrolled in the school that offers the East Campus Early Childhood Learning Program where students are offered a range of activities designed to build the basic concepts of math, reading and science. It also offers a bookworms family literacy take-home program that allows children to take home a book and guide with activities that promote family interaction and literacy. The school is the recipient of the Gold Seal of Excellence Award from Broward Child Care Licensing. It is affiliated with the Broward School District.
