South Miami K-8 Center

The South Miami Elementary School is located in South Miami, Fla. It serves more than 550 students in grades prekindergarten through five. The school places special emphasis on music, drama and visual arts programs. Music students participate in a comprehensive program that includes orchestral stings, such as violin, viola, cello and bass. It also includes instruction in wind instruments, such as soprano, alto, tenor and bass recorder and instruction in vocal and keyboard techniques. Students have the opportunity to take field trips to concerts and other musical events. The drama program provides students with an overview of theater and allows them the opportunity to perform in monologues, small scenes and major productions.
