Founded in 1976, the Pinellas County Urban League, also known as PCUL, is a nonprofit social service and civil rights organization. It provides safety, health care and employment search services for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The organization works to meet the self-sufficiency needs of individuals and families through career development, homeownership, entrepreneurship and wealth accumulation. Through its Minority Skills Bank program, the Pinellas County Urban League conducts a range of educational seminars, job fairs and skills development workshops. It offers training services for the development of sexual responsibility and parenting and budgeting skills, as well as crime and drug addiction prevention services. The Pinellas County Urban League is located in St. Petersburg, Fla.
