Pensacola Heritage Foundation

Pensacola, FL 32501

The Pensacola Heritage Foundation, established in 1964, is the oldest historic preservation organization in the area and is dedicated to preserving and protecting Pensacola's rich history through educational programs and community activities. They have successfully restored historic landmarks such as the Dorr House and Seville Square, and continue to promote education through scholarship essay contests and history fairs.

In addition, the foundation embarked on its largest project to date, the construction of a statue of General Bernardo de Gálvez, a hero of the Revolutionary War. The life-size bronze statue, created by Retired Navy Captain Robert Rasmussen and his daughter, was unveiled and dedicated on May 8, 2018, and serves as a symbol of Pensacola's historical significance. The foundation also hosts a lecture series featuring Historian Dr. Norm Haines, who shares insights into the history of Pensacola.
