History

In 1998, Dr. Cassia Portugal started First Choice Pediatrics in a small office next to the Winter Park Hospital. The overwhelming success of returning patients and distances they were travelling to that facility, motivated Dr. Portugal in 2000 to expand her practice. She moved the practice to a more centralized location at 1651 N. Semoran Boulevard, our main office. Services were then made more convenient to patients in the Sanford area and a new office on Medical Plaza Drive, adjacent to Central Florida Hospital was opened in 2005. Two additional offices were opened in 2012; Alafaya in the Waterford Lakes/East Orlando area and an office in Metrowest. The fifth office was recently opened in the Loop area, making services more available to our patients in Kissimmee. First Choice Pediatrics now has ten certified multi-lingual physicians practicing at five locations in the greater Orlando area.

Specialties

First Choice Pediatrics provides pediatric medical services such as treatment for infectious diseases, injuries, hearing and vision screening, school physicals, compassionate newborn circumcisions, and in some cases we can offer same day appointments. We provide services for the newborns to patients who are 18 years of age. As a multi-lingual practice, the languages spoken in our offices include; Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, French, Vietnamese, Creole, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Arabic, Dutch, and English. We accept most insurance and specialize in services for the well being and continuous healthy development of your child. Vaccinations, sports physicals, allergy treatments, ADHD and behavioral needs, Cholesterol and obesity care plans are some of the services that First Choice Pediatrics offers with care and expertise.
