DAVID HUMPHREYDavid Humphrey, the Founder and President of Humphrey Rosal Architects, has almost thirty years of local architectural and construction experience, relocating to Naples from Columbus, Ohio in 1979. He is a graduate of the School of Architecture at Ohio State University and completed his post graduate studies at the School of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University.Humphrey joined the firm of Robert E. Forsythe Architect in 1979 and became a partner in the firm of Forsythe, Humphrey and Associates in 1984. As head designer for the firm for eight years, he completed a diverse array of projects ranging in building type and scale. He has designed office complexes, health care facilities, banks, retail malls and shopping centers, restaurants, country clubs, hotels, schools, condominiums, churches and single family homes. One his last projects as a partner in that firm was the Naples Philharmonic.In November of 1987, he established the firm of David Humphrey and Associates, Architects, and was later joined by Randolph Rosal in 1999, where he continued to expand upon his design oriented practice. His drive for unique and inspiring solutions has earned the firm many architectural awards, such as the Aurora Award, Pinnacle Award, numerous Sand Dollar Awards, as well as a first place award from the prestigious International Council of Shopping Centers, for the Promenade Shops in Bonita Springs.The firm provides a full range of services, including program analysis and development, master planning, architectural building design, interior architectural design, construction documentation, construction administration, presentations and presentation graphics.Humphrey has maintained a high diversity of projects, which he feels is the strength of the firm. He currently sits as a director of Eden Florida, a life span services program for the treatment of autism.Humphrey has three children ; Jordan, Quinten, and Aaron, ages 19, 17 and 15 respectively. When he is not chauffeuring his children to hockey tournaments or figure skating competitions, he spends time playing tennis, riding his horses or his Harley.
