Julio Grajeda Chavez, M.D., is a cardiologist at Baptist Health. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Specializing in general cardiology, Dr. Grajeda Chavez cares for a range of heart conditions with a focus on preventive cardiology, lipid disorders, hypertension, valvular heart disease and congestive heart failure. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Grajeda Chavez finished his cardiology fellowship at Columbia University’s Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He was awarded Fellow of the Year for his academic excellence.Dr. Grajeda Chavez earned his medical degree from Universidad Anáhuac Faculty of Health Sciences, where he graduated in the top three of his class. He then completed his internal medicine residency at University of Miami’s Palm Beach Regional Graduate Medical Education Consortium. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Grajeda Chavez contributes to research, including his recent work on improving the assessment of fitness on cardiac health using an advanced echocardiographic technique. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology.From routine follow-up appointments to critical cases, Dr. Grajeda Chavez approaches each patient with the highest standards of knowledge, humility and professionalism. In his free time, Dr. Grajeda Chavez enjoys traveling, exercising outdoors with his wife and going to comedy shows.

Javier Hiriart, M.D., is an internist and a pediatrician with Baptist Health Primary Care, a part of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 180 physicians in multiple specialties closely aligned with Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of health issues in adults, children and teens, including simple and complex health concerns, internal medicine, chronic disease management, minor emergencies and urgent care and the coordination of care with specialists. Dr. Hiriart received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Prior to joining Baptist Health, he was director of primary care services for Camillus Health, responsible for the daily operation of primary and pediatric health services delivered to homeless and indigent patients. He is a voluntary clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and a voluntary clinical assistant professor of medicine at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. For his teaching and leadership roles he has been recognized with awards from the American Academy of Family Physicians, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (honored as Medicine Attending of the Year by the med/peds residents in 2010) and American Medical Association. Dr. Hiriart is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Physicians.
