Ocala National Forest

The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department operates under the government of the city of Ocala, Fla., which also operates finance, engineering, building, planning, human resources and information technology departments. The department offers a variety of programs and services to individuals. It operates various parks, trails, and senior citizens, community and recreational centers. Its facilities include a golf club, tennis center and sports complex. The department offers therapeutic programs, special events and sports activities for youths and adults. The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department maintains aquatic, science and outdoor centers for city residents. Its Ocala Regional Sportsplex features horseshoe pits, playgrounds, picnic shelters, basketball and volleyball courts, and football, softball and soccer fields.
