Morgan Candler Smith, MD

Dr. Schaaf is a graduate of the Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly Medical College of Pennsylvania Hahnemann School of Medicine). He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA, where he served as chief resident. He also completed his pediatric radiology fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. His special interests include cardiac imaging. His research on using magnetic resonance sleep studies to predict the success or failure of genioglossus advancement in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea was selected for presentation at the Society for Pediatric Radiology in April 2009.

Dr. Fonseca-Mejia specializes in pediatric gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. She sees patients on the hospital’s St. Petersburg, Florida, campus. She joined the hospital staff in 2025. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She completed a pediatrics residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. During her training, she completed translational research on patients with biliary atresia. Her clinical interests include all aspects of general gastroenterology with special interests in inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic esophagitis and liver diseases. Dr. Fonseca-Mejia speaks English and Spanish.

Dr. Chan is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. He sees patients in the gastroenterology office in Sarasota. His clinical interests include Eosinophilic esophagitis. He earned his medical degree at St. George’s University. He completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, New York.
