Michael S. Porrazzo, M.D., is a board-certified radiation oncologist at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. He has more than 30 years of experience utilizing radiation therapy to treat a wide range of cancers, including prostate, breast, head and neck, skin and lung. He has clinical expertise in stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiotherapy, transperineal prostate implantation, mammosite breast radiotherapy, cardiovascular radiotherapy and interstitial brachytherapy. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Porrazzo served as the medical director of radiation oncology and clinical assistant professor of radiation oncology at Beaufort Memorial New River Cancer Center in Okatie, S.C. Dr. Porrazzo earned his medical degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville. He completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and a radiation oncology residency at SUNY- Health Science Center, State University Hospital in Brooklyn. As a clinician-educator, Dr. Porrazzo is committed to educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. He also contributes to the medical community as a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. To help his patients make the best choices for their unique health situation, Dr. Porrazzo strives to put them at ease, prioritizes their goals and expectations and provides them with education and support. He serves as his patients’ trusted companion during their cancer journey. During his free time, Dr. Porrazzo enjoys spending time with his three adult children, collecting miniature cars and rescuing dogs.

Ryan Matthew Kahn, MD

Ryan Matthew Kahn, M.D., MHS, FACOG, is a gynecologic oncologist at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. He specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly robotic-assisted surgery. When appropriate, this approach offers patients faster recovery, less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays and improved cosmetic outcomes. Dr. Kahn incorporates clinical genetics in his practice to improve care and prevention strategies for patients and families carrying BRCA and other hereditary breast and ovarian cancer gene variants. He also specializes in ovarian cancer cytoreductive surgery, which aims to remove all visible disease during ovarian cancer surgery. This approach has been consistently linked to improved patient survival. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Dr. Kahn earned his medical degree with research distinction at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed a four-year obstetrics and gynecology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. He remained in New York for four more years to complete a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During his fellowship, Dr. Kahn was actively involved in research focused on innovative immunotherapies for ovarian cancer. His positive research results, which included delayed tumor growth and a transformed tumor microenvironment, offer a promising rationale for clinical trials in patients with advanced ovarian cancer. He also conducted research on the regionalization of care for gynecologic malignancies, which involves directing complex surgical procedures to specialized, high-volume centers and surgeons to improve patient outcomes by leveraging the expertise and experience of these centers. Dr. Kahn has published his research work in medical journals and textbooks presented his findings at national symposiums. Murugesan Manoharan, M.D., FRACS, is a surgical urologic oncologist and the chief of urologic oncology surgery at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Manoharan specializes in the treatment of genitourinary cancers, including bladder, kidney, prostate and testicular cancer. Dr. Manoharan also serves as the chairman of the Department of Urology at Baptist Health South Florida and a professor of urology at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, Florida International University.In 2022, the Abbhi Family Endowed Chair in Urologic Oncology was created to help Dr. Manoharan and the Institute conduct research and clinical trials to improve survival rates and quality of life for patients with bladder cancer.He joined Miami Cancer Institute from the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he served as one of the site disease group leaders for genitourinary cancers. He also practiced urology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami.Dr. Manoharan is a renowned leader in the treatment of prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer and other urologic malignancies. He is an expert in minimally invasive surgery, including nerve sparing robotic prostatectomy, robotic kidney surgery, robotic bladder removal and neobladder reconstruction. Dr. Manoharan was one of the first urologists in the United States to perform robotic bladder removal surgery and reconstruction of neobladder using a Pfannenstiel incision.
